Cats are desert creatures (and so am I)

Overheard earlier this week, when the temps hit 96ºF/35ºC.

Wifeness: [flap, flap, pant] It is TOO f#$%-ing hot!

Me (waiting until Wifeness is out of earshot, so as not to offend): [sighing contentedly]

Smart man. This woman gave birth to two children for you. :)

I used to love the heat and could never understand why my mother had such a hard time. Then I had kids of my own and my body changed somehow. I can barely stand it myself these days. I guess the moral of the story for me is never say never.

By the way, July 2007 is now on record as being the hottest month of July ever where I live. (Well, since "they" started recording temperatures, of course)

I'm RIGHT there with you. Last night, when the temperature dipped to 80 degrees, I was actually under the blanket we keep on the couch as I read the next two HP chapters to the family. Mr. Chili commented that, you know, it's not COLD out, but I pointed out that it was significantly colder than it WAS. I hate the cold...
